SEO Expert Training

Introduction to SEO

Instruction will be given through in-class lecture, powerpoint presentations, live website demos and reviews, in-class video conferencing with additional SEO professionals, article reading outside of class instruction and web-based research involving several SEO tools. including but not limited to:

  1. SEMRush.com – all students will be given a free 4 week trial version of this keyword research software to complete out of class assignments.
  2. Screaming Frog SEO Spider  – all students will download and install the free version of this software to help in meta-tag evaluation and development. Software is available in PC and Mac versions.
  3. Google Keyword Planner – students will need to setup a Google Adwords account to gain access to this tool.

5-Week Course Goals

Objective 1:

Learn key tools, strategies and technical concepts for helping a website rank higher in Google for targeted keywords.

Objective 2:

Provide small business owners and staff responsible for a website the ability to assess their own website performance and the also understand and evaluate the role and performance of an SEO service provider.

Objective 3:

Provide basic SEO education for participants who are interested in pursuing a career or additional income in the SEO field.
