Adding an Admin to a Facebook Page

Add an Admin to a Facebook Page graphic for Loebig Ink, LLC

As your business or brand grows, managing a Facebook page can become more complex. Delegating tasks by adding admins makes it easier to stay on top of things. Here’s how to add an admin to your Facebook page on both desktop and mobile devices.

Why Add an Admin?

There are a few key reasons to add another admin to your page:

  • Shared responsibility: Share post, comment, and analytics tasks with trusted team members.
  • Business continuity: Ensure someone else can manage the page if you’re unavailable.
  • Productivity boost: More admins can help manage content, interactions, and promotions.

How to Add an Admin Step-by-Step

  1. Log into Facebook and go to your page. Click on the Pages section in the left menu. Click the three dots next to your page and select Switch Now.

  2. On the left sidebar, click Settings.

  3. In the menu, select Page Setup, then click Page Access.

  4. Under People With Facebook Access, click Add New. Enter the name or email of the person. If they’re on Facebook, their name should appear.

  5. Toggle the option to Allow This Person to Have Full Control, then click Give Access. They’ll get a notification and must accept to gain admin privileges.

  6. You’ll be asked to enter your Facebook password to confirm.

What Happens After Adding an Admin?

Once accepted, the new admin can:

  • Edit page settings
  • Post as the page
  • Reply to messages and comments
  • Run ads and view insights

Admins can also manage other roles, so assign carefully. If you want limited access, assign them as an Editor or Moderator instead.

How to Change or Remove Admins

  1. Go to Settings > Page Setup > Page Access.
  2. Find the person’s name. Click the three dots to Edit Access or Remove Access.
  3. Enter your password to confirm changes.

Closing Thoughts

Adding admins helps streamline your Facebook page management. Whether it’s for content, customer messages, or ads, sharing responsibilities makes your page more efficient. Facebook’s interface may change over time, so let us know if you find any part of this guide outdated!

What People Are Saying

  • client

“Brian is very professional and knowledgeable, but most of all I liked the fact that he did not overwhelm me with suggestions; instead, he motivated me with a "small attainable goals" approach. The tasks he gave me to complete were simple but they made a huge difference in my business and the results are incredible. As a business consultant and a social media guru, he has an invaluable wealth of knowledge to share. ”

“Loebig Ink has been a huge help to me and my business. First I had a website designed by professionals and he made it shine, improved my SEO with fantastic results, and then I designed my own website from scratch which he then did it all over again. Works diligently to make sure everyone is successful, and he truly is a master of collaboration. I can't thank Brian enough for his hard work at helping me make sure I was a success from my efforts on the web. ”

  • ““Recently I had the opportunity to work with Brian on the Partners in Performance Excellence (PiPEX) website. I have worked with several website designers in the past, and by far Brian offered the best product at a reasonable price. His customer service is excellent, putting the needs of our non-profit first. He delivered a visually appealing site, trained us to update content quickly and easily ourselves, and supports enhancements outside our expertise quickly. I would hire Brian again without hesitation and look forward to working with him in the future.” ”
